However, six\nof them, that are undoubtedly determining factors\nfor value creation stand out.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong>Loss of machine efficiency over time;<br>\n<strong>2. <\/strong>Deficiency in quality attributes (e.g. paper holes);\n<strong>3. <\/strong>High energy consumption (non-renewable sources);\n<strong>4. <\/strong>Toxicity to human health (carcinogenic materials);\n<strong>5. <\/strong>High water treatment costs (regulation);<br>\n<strong>6. <\/strong>Environmental impacts (waste disposal).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to face them, it is urgent that a set of innovative\nchemical and mechanical strategies be offered to\nthe market, capable of effectively and synergistically\ntackling the issue of industrial sustainability.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aiming at creating intelligent sustainable solutions for industrial processes, Contech turned to the development of technologies for the treatment of contaminants and the reuse of wastewater in the process, even though the company\u2019s technological platform still includes solutions under development for the areas of process control and by-products derivatization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"495\" src=\"http:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11-1024x495.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12033\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11-1024x495.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11-768x371.png 768w, https:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11-500x242.png 500w, https:\/\/www.contechbrasil.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Captura-de-Tela-2022-03-03-a\u0300s-13.39.11.png 1240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>ll technologies are protected by patents and are\npart of the so-called 3WAY\u00ae concept, which faces the\nproblem of contamination (organic and inorganic) in\nthe paper process in a \u201cholistic\u201d way, considering that\none cannot act only on the \u201ceffect\u201d (when the deposit\nis already formed, compromising productivity), but\nalso on the \u201ccauses\u201d that lead to the formation of\nsuch deposits.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this sense, three combined technologies are used\nthrough a \u201chybrid system\u201d, attacking both the \u201ceffect\u201d\nthrough the machine parts treatment and system of\nclothing, as well as the \u201ccauses\u201d when simultaneously\ntreating mass (cellulosic pulp) and wastewater,\nenabling its reuse within the process itself.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The integrated action of this hybrid treatment system\nallows not only the effective control of contaminants\nin pulp and paper mills but also above all the greater\nclosure of the water circuit by continuous purification,\navoiding overloading the Effluent and Water\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treatment Plants (ETE \/ ETA) and unnecessary\nconsumption of water drawn from rivers or from the\npublic supply network. This is a highly desirable aspect\ndue to the trend observed in recent years of water\nscarcity with the consequent increase in the cost of\ncollection and treatment.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, as the water circuit is closed more and more, deposit problems get worse due to the accumulation of process contaminants, such as pitch and stickies, originating from the natural resins of wood and recycled fiber, respectively. Discover the technologies that integrate advanced treatment processes with chemical and mechanical intelligence! <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>he recently introduced solution involves the\ncombination of advanced treatment processes,\nperformance of which is significantly superior to that\nof the \u201cstate of the technique\u201d. Let us look at its main\nattributes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advanced Cleaning Process: <\/strong>it cleans contaminant deposits present on clothing (felts and wires) or other parts of machines (roll, suction boxes, etc.) using hermodynamic equipment that integrates water, steam, and biodegradable chemicals to produce an \u201cactive\u201d cleaning solution with high detergency. Disruptive innovation is configured with a mix of adsorbents involving an unprecedented synthetic microparticle for the control of pitch and stickies <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(talc substitute), thermodynamic equipment capable\nof promoting homogenization and friction between\nthe slurries, maximizing the exposure of the sites\nadsorption assets and also the joint action with\npolymers (organophilization in situ) enhancing\nefficiency. They normally correspond to volumes below 20 m3\/h, being treated and reused within the process itself, such as the makeup of fresh industrial water in cases of closed water circuit regimes or even in more \u201cnoble\u201d applications, such as DESMI water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those currents are mapped to determine the \u201crecalcitrant\u201d of organic pollutants and the level of inorganic ones. Thus, one or more advanced reuse processes are defined as membrane filtration (ultrafiltration followed by reverse osmosis), advanced oxidation and\/or distillation.
